On March 24 and 25 2022, the Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) and the Association of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI) invited scientists from all over the world to the international symposium – Forum Medicine 21: University Medicine in the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Since the beginning of 2020, the coronavirus has kept the world population on edge, altering daily life for people around the globe, with millions of deaths. The relevance and importance of high-quality medical care and research is abundantly clear.

Strategies were applied locally, regionally, nationally, and worldwide to avert or mitigate the effects of the pandemic – many approaches were similar and many were unique to the region. This symposium will take a closer look at the role of universities and university clinics during the outbreak of the pandemic, bringing together experts from political, science, and research communities, as well as university hospitals, for objective exchanges and discussion.
